I was featured in
the June 2007 issue of
Quilting Arts Magazine. A paper quilt on page 62, an article I wrote on
pages 24-26, a letter to the editor on page 9 and a short bio on page 13!

Woohoo! I’m a
cover girl. That’s my sketchbook page on the cover of the upcoming March/April
Cloth Paper Scissor magazine! There’s also an article, by me, about my
sketching inside. The cover was a wonderful surprise! The magazine will be
available in
stores after March 1.

Jane is
featured in the January/February 2007 issue of Cloth Paper Scissors magazine
with a 5-page interview about her recent artwork
“Ralph’s Letters.” The article tells the story of the rediscovered
35-year-old love letters, written by Ralph to Jane, and how she turned the
letters into a work of art, using silk organza and needle and thread.
Here’s
the link to the magazine’s website
http://www.quiltingarts.com/cpsmag/cpshome.html to order the issue.

The
first class meeting at the Oceanside Museum of Art's School of Art was just
getting under way in a tiny storefront next door to the California Surf Museum
on North Coast Highway. The roomful of students was finding out where to park,
where to pick up supplies, and most important, where to find coffee.

Quilting is an art that conjures images of a
slower and more sedate time. But the art form is very much alive today, as shown
by the spectacular quilts on display in "Quilt Visions 2004" an exhibit that
runs through Jan 16 at the Oceanside Museum of Art.

A few years ago, Jane LaFazio
of Rancho Bernardo read a magazine story about art quilts. The idea intrigued
her.
She’d been sewing on paper already
– “I’d painted a watercolor landscape of Poway and stitched the outline of the
mountains on my sewing machine,” she said – and wondered if she could transfer
those talents to art quilts. More...
